It is an adoption tradition to take your newly adopted child's picture sitting on the red couch at the well known White Swan Hotel. Every child adopted by US parents must travel to Guangzhou and almost all of the families stay at or near the White Swan Hotel. That is because the US Consulate that all adoptions are processed through is in Guangzhou.
